Has anybody used the replacement quarter panels that AutoKrafters has?

If so, how are they? Do they fit relatively well.. worth the money?

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

I think most of us are too cheap to buy "new" 1/4, and just dig them out of a junk yard.

Long time no see...Good to see you back.

Ya... well then there are those who live in the great state of california that don't have a very good junkyard stash to steal them off of, but if somebody knows as to where they can get one, i would gladly pay for them to remove it and send it to me.

im sure, as with anything not native to a vehicle, some fitting will be in accordance. but with patience, the right tools, and mindset, along with an eye for the completed project, almost anything is relatively easy.

I was just mainly concerned about the habit of the aftermarket for making horribly fitting products, so i didnt want to spend lots of money for crap.

Alright, then I guess I will go ahead with the purchase. I am having a friend do all the body work, and so I was just trying to make his job go as quickly and easily as possible.

The ones from "Sherman", are pretty much exact same as from a company called "Cross Canada" (same company) and these have been the ones that have been around forever, and I'm pretty sure they are the same ones AK sells. I've seen a few sets in person, and from what I can remember one side is a little more crisp on the body lines than the other, it may have just been the batch, but it's nothing a good body guy couldn't fix, and if you don't need the whole panel you can just use it for pieces.

it's hard to swallow the nOS price and since I only need a section (The lower part) I'm gonna buy the AK ones and just cut out what I need.

I have the Sherman quarters also, and I'll say they look pretty good. The body lines are not quite as crisp as factory quarters, but I think they are acceptable. Looking back I might have just used pieces of them, just to save from all the welding. These pics aren't current, but it's what I could find quickly.

Yeah yeah, measure once cut twice!

This is the one area where, if you really need a full quarter, these are lacking. I had to fabricate this area from scratch. (for the disoriented, this is the back where it meets the valence, behind the bumper)

Isn't Joe repproducing these some time soon? From the looks of everything he has reproduced it would be worth checking into.

If your talking about just the lower patch section, I tried the Mustang ones. Even after several hours of modifications, it didnt fit that good. For the effort, it would be just as easy to make them from scratch. As far as trying the whole housing, definitely wont work without extensive modifications.

I used the lower outside wheel house patch panel for an early Mustang. I thought it worked great.
