    All flavors for everyone...............

Yeah, I was excited to just make the cut myself, never thought I would win it. The Spectre guys were really cool last year, I'm sure it will be fun. Definitely keep in touch and make sure and cruise with us on the Tour. :tiphat:

I entered that contest but was not chosen. Looks like someone stole my Toyo idea and won! lol.

Since I've won this contest, alot has happened, to where the car was not going to get built in time for the Power Tour, but in the end, we will be building the car for them here in Austin, Texas.
Alot of the specs have changed too for one reason or another, but it will be a really kickass car when finished. We won't have time to paint the car like I envisioned, but we'll make what's there look great. Spectre wants the car to have a Muscular, Road Racer theme to it, so these are the latest sketches that I've come up with. They also already had (2) 2JZ engines out of the MKIV Supras in house, so that will be our Power Train, along with a 5 speed and a Ford 9" with 3.89:1 gears.. The goal will be 500-600RWHP. I'll post back as the build progresses.

It will be center exit, under the fuel tank, all polished stainless. The car should have a sound all it's own.

    I concur.....

IMO why send in a design that wins but does not get built. I would wait and build it right for the following year......If I was in the contest and lost to a design that didn't get built I would feel cheated and a little POed

Your car though do what makes you happy;)

Yeah, looks like slapped on ricer bits.Goin with supra drivetrain, you would think it would look more purpose built.Spectre must have cut the budget big time!! Too bad.Coulda been a really sweet ride.

    I tend to agree...

Looks like just a cowl hood, some hood pins, a front and rear spoiler and some stupid window things in the back glass...

Not a bad looking car w/ the rims but ditch the other crap

Come on guys, how can you call RICE on this?

This is the latest car built for Spectre Performance, on the "Hard Shine" TV show, that's the look that they would like for all of their shop cars! This is the caliber of car that will be built for the Maverick, I'm sorry if my sketches don't portray the final product.

Trust me, in the end, you will all be proud, this build will do as much for the Maverick community as it will for the Supra Community.........it WILL be a kickass car!

I dunno about that, I've been building Supras alot longer than those goofy movies have been out! (y)

The 2JZ Supra engines are freaks, I don't know of many engines that can pump out close to 1,000 HP on stock internals.
The design is the same, just changed the spoilers, I like the aluminum spoilers, they should work well with the overall theme.

Will there be "in-progress" photos of the build? It's an interesting build and if it turns out like you hope it would be cool to see how it was done.

Yes, I'll post lots of progress pictures. Spectre is also working to get Hot Rod Magazine to continue the story on the Maverick!

Here are the latest pictures of the Spectre Performance Maverick build. We're going with a 2JZ turbocharged engine from the MKIV Supras as Spectra Performance already had 2 of them in house. Will also be using a Toyota R-154 5 speed, 5th gear is 0.73:1 overdrive and they can handle gobs of torque. Power Goal will be 500 to 550RWHP. We've gutted the suspension and added a Rod and Custom Motorsports Mustang II front end, with tubular A arms, and Rod and Custom Motorsports Coilover Suspension for the rear. Jawsgear.com supplied us with a built 9" Ford Rear end with 3:89 gears.
I'll update with more pictures soon with the 13" Baer Big Brake Kit, and Aeromotive Fuel System.
