Hood pins

Any one use 70 style twist lock hood pins on a maverick or comet?

 

Would be an interesting mod. I have a complete set for a 71-73 in the garage.

 

Look kinda MOPARish to me

 

They are nice looking, but hard to tell if you are going to see the topside of your hood against your windshield on the next pass. We don't use them because of that. Similar ones came stock on our Oldsmobiles. We check them all the time and Al put safety catches on both of the hoods.

Tom I never realized they were there on his car.

 

Give it a try, I like the way they look.

But with my hood up 50% of the time, It is nice to look down and see that the latch has been reset, and I won't be kissing the hood at 60 mph...

 

I am more worried about kissing it at 100mph.

 

Not looking to use them to keep the hood closed. Looking more to cover up what was done to my grabber hood by someone else.

 

That should be fairly easy to weld up and repair.
