Painting around the lights

i plan on paintin the chrome pieces around my lights black and the outer edge will be taped of so it will have silver trim. is krylon fusion good for this project?

i use the cheap walmart 99cent paint works great on the stuff i've painted...

 

Until it sits in the sun for about 5 months and you drive about 10,000 miles. Then it starts coming off in chunks. Ask me how I know.

 

mines been sitting for 2 years in the sun still looks great...i'm using colorplace enamel

I used Krylon semi-gloss on mine. I sanded them with 320 sandpaper and srayed a few coats of self ecthing primer on them first. That was almost 10 years ago and they still look I did them yesterday.

 

how many cans of each did it take?

 

I use Krylon as well, one can should do.

Are you sure you'll get enough paint on them with 5 cans?

 

Well I was going to say 8, but I thought if he did light coats it would work.
