I couldn't imagine 22" wheels with manual brakes, you would have one hell of a time stopping the rolling mass of those things, and what about wheels bearings? how long would they hold up?
If that is your Idea of looking good it is your car, your money and your wheels do what you want, but as you can see from the replies you got, it is NOT a popular modification around here and you are likely to get your feeling stepped on if you put those wheels on a Maverick and ask a classic car guy if they like the way it looks.... It's kinda like wearing your pants with the crotch hanging to your knees and your under draws hanging out... It might get the teeny bopper vote and the girls may think its cute but a real man is going to tell you to pull your pants up and wear a freaking belt

You could not be more wrong! A true redneck will not put 22's on his car. He will put on four different wheels first because anything more expensive would eat into his beer money.
