My wife hasnt driven my car. It only has a power gas pedal:yup:, so the steerings alittle tough, and the breaks take a litle amount of effort compared to her prius's. Then theres the seat. I have kirky alum seats and she hates geting out of those.
So im wondering how many peoples wife, girlfriends, or boyfriends wont, dont or cant drive your mav or comet and why?

She is willing, but finds it difficult to use the shifter. (B&M with a trigger).

Then lately, there has only been one seat.

She has always been embarrassed to drive it around town because of the paint job, or lack thereof...

I taught my first wife how to drive in my Sprint. She drove it to High school her entire senior year. (we were married). She was the last person other than me to drive the car. That was back in 74. After the resto in 02, only Dan Starnes has driven it besides me.

My wife won't even think about driving mine. She wants nothing to do with it.
She will when it's done I hope

My wife was the same way but things are now starting to change now. My Maverick sat for many years, in the driveway, near the front of my house. My wife and son used terms like "The Mighty Mav", "a flower planter", "I can hear it rusting" plus many more clever sayings. She wondered when the township was going to make me get rid of it. Since I built my garage, have the car completely stripped and every piece is getting cleaned, painted, modified, renewed etc. ,she is now bragging up what I am doing to people she knows. In fact, my son, is glass beading everything that can fit in their blast cabinet where he works. I always told her that I only needed one seat because none of my dear family members were ever going to ride in it. I guess I'll put two seats in it now. :dancing:

We don't have any issues with who drives the Mavericks in my household. My husband and I both drive them equally. I am the full owner of the one Maverick and we both own the other. If he wanted to take my Maverick and drive it to Maryland I'd toss him the keys and say 'Go for it.' The only Maverick we had that my husband would not drive was the Stallion we used to own. For some reason everytime he drove that car something would either happen to the car or to him. He swore that car hated him. I never had any problems with it so I drove it most of the time. At one time my husband owned a 84' Chevy pickup that I refused to drive. It was not because it was a Chevy or anything like that. It was a stick shift vehicle and the seat would not move far enough foreward for me to be able to push the clutch all the way down. I would have to sit on the edge of the seat to reach the clutch and when I would push the clutch in it would push me back into the seat. Along with that, when you shifted into first gear you would smash your knuckles into the dash. I once drove that beast 20 miles home from work and nearly lost control of it twice. If I can't safely drive a vehicle I wont do it, so that was the last time I ever drove that truck.

the first time my wife drove mine i almost didn't get it back. i could hear her turning corners from 1/4 mile away. took me an hour to clean the rubber off of the rear quaters. now she wants a classic of her own. she had a 62 corvair but it wasn't fast enough. after i finish this car she says it is her turn for a hot rod.

My wife will ride but has no desire to drive the car. Only one other person has driven my car in the past 27 years.
