do what we did to my buddies car and to my 1966 VW beetle back in the day.... put an extra windshield washer bottle under the hood and run the lines and sprayer nozzles back to the back of the car and have them spray right in front of the rear tires.. We did that to my bug and to a friends FWD Escort GT and used to fill the washer bottle with clorox, talk about white/blue smoke.... I had a lot of guys at school scared to death of the VW bug, they thought it had a porsche engine in it. of course on the escort we ran the sprayers in front of the front tires
I have heard of doing that, but honestly, my car breaks them loose with very little effort. I hear it actually makes better smoke...not sure if that is true... My problem is actually the opposite...I get too LITTLE traction when I need it.
Is VHT the stuff they spray on the track? Actually, I haven't been on the track for two seasons. I took the interior out and never got all the carpet and stuff back in (had a little mishap with my old motor...), and the battery is just sliding around in the back of the trunk. I need to get it mounted before they will let me race again.
Never saw it, but I've also heard of having the water nozzle pointed in front of your opponent's rear tire (when lined up for a street race - something we all know is illegal and potentially dangerous). Shame on that meany. :evilsmile
We used to have a friend go around the back of the other guy's car and take a leak on his tire before we ran. I had two washer tanks in the trunk of my Mach I. One had a bleach/water mixture and the other had VHT Track Bite. Get the tires hot behind the starting line with the bleach/water first. Then, do another burnout across the starting line with the VHT. This was on the street, of course. A very backwoods, deserted street because street racing is illegal, you know.
