Hi to all How do you decode the vin or trim tag on a Maverick? My grandfather has a 1971 or 72 in his garage that has been in there since it was almost new. It was a rollover that was brought into the dealer he worked at. The car has 8,000 miles on it but we cant find the title for it. They started to work on it and then parked it and it hasn't been touched since. I dont think you can get a clean title with a bill of sale or a replacement title so i'm thinking of parting it out. I know someone who wants the car for the frame but doesnt want to pay much for the car so i think most of the parts will come here and ebay. Any help would be great Thanks
Welcome aboard! You can decode the vin here: http://home.comcast.net/~petebre/maverick/decode/index.html
welcome abord by rollover do you mean the car was actually fliped on its roof? mavericks are unibody anyway so its not like there is a removable frame
Yes but at low speed and didnt do much damage just pushed down pass side roof rail and part of pass side roof up front. That is for the most part fixed but without the title the car is useless. he wants the front unibody for something so he said. Thanks for the info i will have some pic's after we clean out and un burry the car. My grandfather was a packrat to say the least.
Thanks for all the welcomes. I hope you dont mind me jumping on the board to sell stuff as i don't own a maverick. I'm using this board for info so i dont just give the car away and get out of the car what we can so someone else does't and to help everyone who might need something. Thanks for your help. Todd
