I am not positive about a 66 Stang, but on later Stangs and Mavericks, the starters are the same between C4 and Toploader 3 speed.

Toploader 4 speeds have the different starter nose and different speedo cable.

Using this knowledge, I would assume that you should be fine on the speedo cable and starter.

I know for a fact that you will not have to mod your driveshaft or u-joints.

See the brass bushing in the center of the crank?
That is to support the nose of the input shaft.
You MUST remove the bushing to convert to auto.
The TC has it's own protrusion that must go there in place of the bushing.

Okay, got the pilot bearing out with a slide hammer and I'm almost done. However, when I went to hook up the vac modulator line, I don't see a tapped hole on the spacer for the size of my fitting on the line. The only hole available is smaller than the fitting and right now it's plugged with a bolt. Am I in the right spot and if so can I buy an adapter for the size of the fitting on the line?

the converter needs to click 3 times . when your pushing it on the trans spin it clockwise and push it will click three times an each time move in further towards the trans..... use a 93 mustang high torque mini starter. theyre lighter, more dependable and has the torque to start high comp motors and you can just tuck the clutch pedal under the carpet after it is disengaged ... good luck

The vacuum modulator usually has a short piece of vacuum hose at each end. One to connect to the intake manifold and the other to connect to the modulator.

Mine has a fitting on it. I wish I had a rubber hose on both ends, but I only have one that connects to the vac mod valve. I guess I need to find an adapter of some sort.

Whatever it takes to get a good vacuum signal to the modulator.
