well went to a new "old" junk yard yesterday and scored some sweet parts off of a 73 mustang! i grabbed the center consol for 20 bucks! its toast thow. but the little clock just like seths is mint and it works .its still attached to the shifrter bezal that is also mint.i was wonderin how much the clock and bezal is worth? i also scored some mint rip free high back buckes with the little crome butten in the middle of the seat back? never seen these type i was wonderin if there mustang or from a torino or sothin? there defintly ford thow and have a stiching that all gose to the center crome button.i payed 80 bucks for both seats.which was a total score!
the car is a 302 car with the original engine still there. pluss c4 auto
on the floor. will the engine mounts and trans brace fit a mav or comet?
i was qwoted 50 bucks for the frame, engine and dule exsaust trans mount
but i have to pull them myself which sucks.

well looking forward to some good advice thanks guys!

I beleive the mounts and braces are different. The motor and trans should work if you were intrested in them. The seats won't work either so you can send those to me :p.

I think so. When I am curious about how they look, I go and search them on ebay or something so I can try to see how they compare.

The mounts are different. The Mustang has a wider engine compartment.

Those are re-upolstered Deluxe interior package (high level option) seats in that pic.

The stock seats would have been very similar, but the covers are higher quality than the repops. The 'Comfortweave' vinyl on the stock seat covers looks like you describe. The repops, while in the same style, aren't as 'snappy' looking.

You scored real good if you found mint deluxe seats.
If you can get other deluxe package parts from the interior in good shape, for a good price, they are highly sought after. Most parts are repoped, but even then they are expensive and I haven't met anyone yet that hasn't complained about how cheap the repop stuff is.

Take pics of the frame mounts.
66-70 frame mounts work on our cars.
The upper, insulated mount is the part that is different from ours, and therefore adjusts the width, on those models.
Same might be true for the 71-73, however I doubt it.
    Never hurts to look though.

The seats in the picture that you posted are Mach 1 seats. The ones that you are describing with the button should be Deluxe seats. Nice score if they are still in great shape. Still a good score if they need to be reupholstered because a lot of Mustang options are out there. They ought to work in your car if you score some Mav/Comet Highback seat tracks.

I have seen that console swapped into a Mav and it looks pretty nice.

BTW, what shape was the back seat of the Mustang in. If it is a coupe, you might be able to use the upholstery on a Mav rear seat frame. I have heard they are close and rough measurements that I have taken suggest that too, but I want another chance to measure things more accurately.

Are you thinking of "Grande" seats?
I thought of those too, at first when he was talking about "buttons".
They have the rectangular shapes in the center area of the seat.

The Mach 1 "Deluxe Interior Package" used the seats he pictured, with the more angular shapes. However, like I said, the stock seats used much higher quality materials. The Comfortweave material could be had in dual interwoven colors too. Unlike the repops.

    Cometkurt:
Was the car you took the seats from a 'fastback' or 'notchback'?
Was the rear window facing the sky like a hatchback? Or was the rear window facing rear, straight up and down?

The Deluxe option was not on the notchback... but you could get fancy "Grande" seats.

I am not sure if these are original, or just higher quality repops, but these are the Deluxe seats available in Machs.
They have the angular shapes in the covers, but the single rectangular "button" as Kurt is calling it.
The Grande seats had similar "buttons" but it had more than one.
Many of the repops, don't have any.
