How much fatmat material do you need for that kind coverage? looks like you covered everything but the trunk.

    Jimmy,
let me get this stuff tested before i..promote or demote...these products... it is 60/1000th. thick.

it was about ...87 sq. ft...that i used. i put 2 layers on the firewall, front floors under the back seat and trans. hump.

did you use the dynomat type stuff (tar backed foil) on the floors and then the padded stuff over them? I see in the pic that you used the padded stuff under the backseat along with the dynomat stuff. That should work really well.

I used just the padded insulation that was 3/8" thick. It worked pretty good. The extra thickness gave me problems with getting the carpet to lay flat again since it was used to the position that is has been in for 13 years now.

Looks good, I use summit brand deadner not as good as dynomat but, cheaper. I am very happy with the result just the 2 chamber flowmasters are loud. With the windows up and in 5 gear it is quiet enough to hear the radio :D

    how do they ...rate...this stuff?
there are about 4 brands that are made alike...the thickness is the only diff. i see and at that, they are within...10/1000ths of each other.
Dynamat is 60/1000ths thick...Fatmat Xtreame is 70/1000th. i saw some that if you put 2 layers on you would have 120/1000ths for 2/3rd the money...that would be way better and cheaper...

Great shop to work in. Looks like you should be able to keep it cool and quiet inside the car now. Great job.

    Frank,
The inside looks like a NASA project with all that foil in there. Let us know how quiet it is with two layers.
