Been doing a little work on the '72 to try and get it looking respectable. I spent the last 2 days working on the interior. Just a lot of cleaning and pulled the carpet out and dyed it back black. It is the original carpet out of my '74 Grabber, and was originally light green. A previous owner had dyed it black years ago (in the 80's), but it had mostly faded back to green so I dyed it again. Put some high back buckets in to replace the Escort seats that were in it. Still need to put the passenger door panel back on, had it off because the window fell off the track. Today I'm going change the hood, swap the front bumper and go back over a few areas where I spray bombed it a couple of years ago that have now faded, as you can see. It's far from a show car, but I just want it to look relatively decent. For newer members who don't know, this car sat in a back yard for several years along side ford84stepside's '74, and was destined to be a parts car for his at one point. I originally bought it for $100, it was just a rolling body. I dropped an engine in, rebuilt the suspension and put an interior in it. This car is literally pieced together with parts I've found in junkyards. Oh yea, does anyone know how to get the old column shift lever off? Is it as easy as just driving out that roll pin?
"Oh yea, does anyone know how to get the old column shift lever off? Is it as easy as just driving out that roll pin?" Yes...:Handshake ...Frank...
Looks good Jamie! See ya Saturday at FFW! Maybe we can park both of them side by side and send Clint some pics, I'm sure He would love to see how they both turned out!
I'll try to post pics of the exterior tomorrow. Just spray bombed it again. Still looks like crap, but not as bad as it did. We definitely have to park them side by side, Bobby. If you beat me there (I'm sure you will), save me a spot!
I reckon we're ready. My dad has decided to bring his Torino, planning to stick a For Sale sign on it, $4,500. It is a completely rust free California car, all original including the 351C and working A/C. If it dosen't sell, he's going to go ahead and get it repainted and a new top put on it. Both cars have a 71 DSO (Los Angeles). You have to wonder if they ever passed each other driving down the road back in the day...
just got finished cleaning the tires...and yes i'm sitting in a chair... Me,Mike and Olin met Jeff at Summit today and then went to...Baby Janes Diner...for lunch...it's on my favorite Blvd. ...:Handshake...

MAN! I cant decide what to do... Bring the CAR (thunderstorms and possible small HAIL!) Come without the car .... I dunno what I`ll do ????????????????
They came out of a '72 Grabber. They need to be recovered, but they are better then what was in there. Man I hope it dosen't rain. I'm going on up to Peach State to the kart races after Fun Ford, buddy of mine is running the big money race up there. Would suck if it rained out both..
Nobody is predicting hail except Terry's link. From what I understand a front is supposed to move through GA in the afternoon. If it does rain it will probably just be as the edge of the front moves over. I'll be there with my Grabber ... just gonna leave early so I don't have to drive in the rain ... and then I'll leave in the evening after rain passes .. that's my plan anyway ....
