$1,250 in 2002... Plus I traded the guy my 1985 Mazda (first car, ran horrible).

Body/Paint: straight, originally mint green re-painted emerald metallic by previous owner. All chrome and trim intact and looked factory new.
Interior: plaid/black, no holes, not faded, headliner was perfect. All accessories worked.
Drivetrain: 200 straight six, 3 on-the-tree, 69k original miles, ran like a champ and passed emissions with flying colors.
What Happened: turn signal cam in the steering column broke and I figured it was a good reason to tear apart the whole car and satisfy the go-fast bug. :D

The car was garage-kept its entire life and never abused. Could've been an original showpiece. Hindsight is almost always 20/20. :(

Needless to say, I think I just about stole the car for that price.

First Maverick was an all original 1972 Grabber 302, C4, and Dad swears it was ordered with 3:55 rear gears, it was given to me by my Dad, was in terrible condition. Both rear quaters were rotted off up past the Grabber stripes, the seats and carpet were really rough,, the valve seals were all in about 1,000 pieces but the engine still didn't smoke a bit.

My Second Maverick was a 1970 with a 72 Grabber hood, sport mirrors, rear spoiler but no grabber stripes, it was a 250 I6 with a 4 cyl Mustang II tranny, and a V8 maverick 5 lug rear, Drove it for about 2 year and sold it to a step cousin and he wound up taking it to Tennesee soemwhere. I paid $750 for it, the original rear that was in it when I bought it went first, and I bought the v8 rear from the same guy that I bought the car from for $50, then the 250 I6 threw a rod, so I got a good Junkyard engine, Delivered to my house on a rollback for $105. kept driving it until I was ready to buy my 3rd Maverick and sold it to my Uncle for his step son for $750

3rd Maverick was a 1970 v8 conversion that I bought from my best friend in high school, I bought it from him about 6 years after we got out of school, he had just freshend up the mildly built (275 - 300 HP) 302, put in a shift kit in the tranny and installed bucket seats and a hurst floor shifter, freshly repainted with a cobra Jet hood scoop, Magnum 500 rims with 8.5 on the rear and 7 inchers up front the car handled corners like a dream. Paid him $650 for that car and it was the best car I ever owned

Then I recently bought my 1972 200 I6 C4 pretty much body on restored, to a good daily driver quality. She's in really good shape cosmetically and mechanically just not show car quality, but pretty close. Paid $4500 for it about 3-4 months ago.

I paid $250 for my 71 Grabber back in 02.

I didn't even know it was a Grabber at first, it didn't have the original Hood and Trunk lid (still doesn't) previous owner also had a 73 and he swapped them to it.
All but the grill badge is missing, it wasn't until I redid the Front Brakes that I discovered the Grabber markings on the front, faintly visible but there if you look close enough.

Heh... the merged threads threw me... wasn't sure if this was a current post or not...

Paid $700 for a 72 Comet I6, auto, column shift - with what I think was 40K miles (6 months ago). Bright red & rusty body - but the floors are solid. Put about $400 into it so far, plus $500 for new tires.

$1600 total and worth every Canadian dollar (even though we're "on par" with the U.S. everything still seems to cost more in Canada).
