    67-73 spindles work

the mustang II and fox body stuff is completly diffrent though and i think the 64-66 stuff is a little off too

Do all the suspension components from those years work too?

71-73 Stang suspension seems to be the prefered parts.

When we talk about spindles, we are generally talking about front disc brakes. The 65-67 Stang stuff works, disc brake wise, but the discs from those years are exceedingly rare and complex. So that is why these years are not mentioned when folks talk about disc brake spindle interchange. The parts are overengineered, expensive to rebuild, heavy, and hard to find.

Are you wanting spindles to swap on disc brakes?

If so, many FoMoCo cars have spindles that will swap.
Like mentioned, the later rack and pinion steering cars won't swap.

    68-73 Stangs/Cougars
    68-71 Torino/Fairlane/Montego/Cyclone/Falcon
    75-80 Granada/Monarch/Versillies
Other earlier Falcon/Comet/Fairlane/Stang/Cougar discs and spindles will swap, but are rare/expensive like I posted.
Of course, all the Maverick/Comet stuff will work too.

So does this mean that these aftermarket big brake kits for the listed cars will work on our cars too?

I suppose that all depends on what spindles you have vs what spindles are required to run the kit.

If the kit is for a 70 Stang with factory discs, well it seems you better have spindles identical to 70 Stang disc spindles! (for example)

I expected to have to run the different spindles, if it would work. So this means that I could run a 73 mustang spindle with the after market brakes without any issues? I dont mean to seem like I'm asking the same question over and over but I want to make sure that I have everything straight.......I have a few plans for my Mav in the future that involve this kind of swap and I just want to make sure what parts I need and what actually works.

I'm bringing this thread from the graveyard. :yup: So if a Maverick/Comet disc spindle is the same as the 70-73 Mustang spindle (except for a 9/16 bolt hole). Dont this mean a 70-73 Mustang brake kit from Baer or Wilwood will bolt to our cars? Of course we will have to drill the 1/2 mounting hole to 9/16. I'm getting ready to upgrade my brakes. I had a company tell me I needed to buy there spindle, but just think they want to make a little more money. (Sorry for the high Jack too.)

I think you're assuming too much. Nobody said they're "the same". What was said is that they will bolt on and work.

Considering that Mavericks use the same upper, and lower control arms as Mustangs do, why wouldn't they work? Other than an outer tie rod maybe? which is pretty easy to change...

What I was saying is Wilwood Kits for 70-73 Mustang seems like it should fit disc brake spindles on Maverick's / Comet's. Dave, what about the 75-77 Maverick/Comet?
