Actually it's that one mexican maverick that everybody quotes as a shelby, but it's only a custom '73 mav with added shelby looks. So i found an article and scanned it for you guys, i'm going to translate the specs so you see the great job this guy did. enjoy. The full custom and resto job took over 10 years. It has a stroker 377, connecting rods from a chryler 360, 377 chevrolet pistons, double aluminum manifold, electric pump, custom made radiator to make it fit, headers, subframe connector, the leaf springs were changed for gas shock absorbers, sway bars, shelby '68 tail lights, '73 mach 1 rear valance, 17x9 Hotwheels wheels with 275/35/R17 tires rear and 16x8 with 245/50/R16 front, disc brakes on the 4 wheels, bullit like mirrors, custom made grill with central headlights, side scoops from a '67 shelby simulated on the top and working on the bottom, roll bar, britani blue color, and '70 maverick front and rear bumpers.
I like it! He's changed the wheels out since the last pics that were posted on here. He use to have the Eleanor type wheels.
it was a special edition from a muscle cars magazine, dedicated to mavericks only. subscription is not available, you can order back issues though, but they're not dedicated to mavericks
Very cool car, i loves it. That is what we need up here, a magazine dedicated to Mavericks and Comets, now that would be great.
i agree, but sadly few people know the exist, and since the mav never got a big factory engine and high performance right out of the box, nobody fix eyes on this great looking car. too bad... for them
Maverick Shelby " Mexico " Good afternoon Reviewing publications in Internet find these photograph of a exhibition in Mexico by years 70´s where showed maverick shelby… somebody knows something of this version ? Greetings MACAJI 69
i wonder why aren't any other pictures of the shelby maverick but those everybody has? could they be fake?
