Hello everyone!! In the summer of 1993 I bought my first car and it was a 1976 ford 2 door brown Maverick with a Inline 250 ci. I loved having the only one and being diffrent from everybody else!! I drove it all through high school and drove it form IOWA to Californa when I was is the Marine Corps. Of course I whanted more speed and a little more agressive looks and after about a year I sold the 76 and found a 1971 Mercury Comet gt. It has gone through many changes over the years , but wright now it is orginal color Mourning gold and has a 331 stroker in it making 450 hp / 450 tq gross with a tremeck tko 5 speed and with a ford 8 inch 3.00 gear , Ford track lock posi in the rear .. In 2002 I bought my second 1971 comet gt , it was grabber blue with a black interior and C-4 on the coulom. It was all origanal and quiet the head turnner and a great cruiser!! In 2005 of June I rolled the car three times and was very luck to walk away and to be talking to everyone today!!! I still have the car but basicly it is sitting messed up in my buddys feild!! I belive no matter what you drive Maverick or Comet , Grabber or GT , two or four door we all like to stand diffrent from the crowd and the norm! This is what makes us diffrent and bonds us together!!!! This is my firs entry and I need some time to get use to the format ,but I will get some pictures up as soon as I can!!
Welcome aboard! Yes, very sad about the one you lost but there are always others out there. The main thing is like you said, you are still here. Well, we are certainly happy to have you and look forward to seeing pics of the GT you still have.
from another GT owner. Watch out for Ray! He lures you into thinking he's a pal, then he cuts up the Comets for parts! But he's cool otherwise...
Nice to have you with us. That GT sounds like a nice machine. Looking forward to seeing some pictures. ~Brian
Welcome to the board. There are other members on here from your area as well. My advice would be to watch out for BOTH Ray and Gene.
