Dan; gotta get with Hagerty on my fire damage this week. Sorry to hear about the damage, but you'll get it back in good shape in no time.
Earl ... mine is nothing compared to yours .... Hagerty is open from 12 - 4 today ... I already called and got a claim started ... Somebody is supposed to call me tomorrow after it has been reviewed ... Dan
Just remember Everythings fixable don't stress to much!! i guess thats a warning to all of us since our cars have prop rods....don't keep the hood up on a windy day.
While I was still at the show I had a guy that restores cars come and look at the damage. He took pictures and sent me an Estimate today ... $2400!! :16suspect Personally I thinking more like $800. I'll see what the guy that originally painted my car has to say. I got the documents from Hagerty today. They want an estimate and pictures but said I am covered 100% ... no deductible. :bananaman Here are the pics he took. http://www.dmhines.com/Our_Website/Grabber_Damage.html
Not as bad as i thought! luckily it didnt bend the front of the hood upwards....from coming down so hard....still not a fun deal...hope you get it fixed soon!!
It actually dented the side of the hood upward since the rod got caught between the driver fender and hood ...
I have no doubt it can be easily repaired ... I'm just worried about the color match and will the repair be totally invisible ... I haven't discussed how he intends to do it yet ... but obviously some base and clear will need to come off ... fix any metal damage ... and then base, clear, blend, sand and buff ...
Dan- What is that rubber piece where the rod goes into the hood? Is that factory? I have never seen that? Seth
