I've decided I want a set, So who is using what and why? I'm thinking Edelbrock 60259's but I could change my mind yet.
That choice would work well . I have Victor jr.s on mine and I`m very pleased with the way they run on my Mis-matched (build what ya got) motor combo.
I've got an earlier block so I have the 60359's on mine. These would be good on a street motor IMO. They work good for me on the bracket car since I'm only allowed to run 12.0s at the track. If I was going to try to build something to go faster I think I'd try out the AFR's.
anybody try the GT40-X's ford racing sells? i see them used on most all ford's crate motors. just curious
I have the Edelbrock Performer RPMs on mine but I am going to change to a set of AFR 185s but the 165s would work just as good on a mild motor, I will be going to a 347 so want the 185s. Heck there are so many good heads out there it is really a tough decision I quess part of the factor is how deep are your pockets.
Running Edelbrock Performer RPMS on mine as well.... http://store.summitracing.com/egnse...840126+4294867078+115+4294867028&autoview=sku i went with the 2.02 valves with my forged pistons.
My Fiat Spider has the Edelbrock Performer RPM heads on it also with the 2.02 stainless valves. Runs great.. Going to run even better with a 347 short block stuck under them. :evilsmile
what is your intended goal ? daily driver,street/strip,bracket/eliminator or full tilt built to the hilt drag car ?????
BAD A$$$ Driver. I need the power to back up all the under car neon!! I've decided that since it's September already, and I only have about a month or two of good weather left, I may as well pull the motor out this weekend, and do all the other things that I wanted to do last winter that didn't get done, unless I just go buy a crate engine......
I've had AFR 185s and Ebrock 60259s on mine. The AFRs make more power, the Edelbrock appear better made (I had them side-by-side on my bench). The Edelbrocks have helicoils in the threaded holes, AFRs don't. I did have to widen the piston valve reliefs to make room for the 2.02 intake valves.
