just bought and brought home a '71 Grabber that i found here locally. i got it home today and already started stripping parts off of it (parts car). the car itself is neat being a '71 Grabber, V8, 3sp, floor shift, bench seat car... here's some pictures for your wondering eyes... http://s70.photobucket.com/albums/i82/mean_maverick/71 Grabber parts car/
Damn, that car is eat up bad. What a shame. Reminds me of a story my dad told me. Back in the mid 80's, my uncle had (actually still has it..) a '70 Cougar XR7 with a 428CJ in it. The car was from Michigan, and was an absolute rust bucket even back then, but it was real fast. He and my dad were driving it one night, and pulled up next to a new 5.0 fox body Mustang at a red light that wanted to race. My uncle started power braking it smoking the tires at the red light. There was so much rust in the car, most of the smoke came up inside the car so bad that they couldn't hardly see anything, smoke was rolling out of the windows and out around the trunk lid and everywhere. Light went green and the Mustang took off and left them, they had to pull off to the side of the road and open the trunk and doors and let all the smoke air out.
I agree. and to beat it all it was sold new 45 miles from my house and was NEVER registered outside of my county from the day the original owner bought it. it's a one owner but it looks like it's been thru 20 owners from Canada nope, 2.79 ratio
looks like it was money well spent to me shame the hood and spoiler got beat on tho... im considering the manual steering route on my '72 and was just noticing your album pics... shoot me a pm if you think you can help
pm sent and yeah, the hood is beat up pretty good but doesnt have THAT MUCH rust in it compared to others i have... and the spoiler should be an easy fix. not to mention the floor shift column, clutch pedals, belly bar, trans mount, PERFECT grabber grille, nice front bumper, etc. etc.
