I've gotten a price of $540.00 from a local interior shop to do the carpet in my Maverick, I think that price was a big rip-off. Does anyone have any experience of doing the carpet installation themselves? I'm also thinking I could go to Home Depot and buy some carpet and do the floor in the car myself.
i put my carpet in myself. bought mine thru RPS for $139.95 and the installation took me about 2-3 hours with some help from my brother. i could have done it faster but i triple checked everything before i started cutting on it. that price u got quoted is a joke, buy some carpet and do it yourself btw, i would recommend molded automotive carpet specific for our cars though, makes life easier
Here is the thread where I had my questions. The one I ordered fits great and price was right. http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=24382&highlight=carpet It's not in the car right now cause I took it out. Redoing things...
Buy a new molded set and do it yourself. Make sure you place the new set in the sun to make it easier to work with.
I just got mine from AutoKrafters (ACC) and spec'ed it for a '72. They sent me a box marked '74/'75. Is this gonna be an issue? I plan on adding some floor insulation and I'm running a Camaro console that covers the top of the tunnel... Russ
it may have a little extra in the front passenger floor for the cat. converter hump that came in those cars.... that's the only difference i could see
That's what I was seeing on the other posts, may be to my advantage with the addition of sound deadener... Russ
There are pictures on this thread of the ACC carpet I put. It was easy! http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=33714&page=2
