:tiphat::hmmm: has anyone used any tcp paint, like there flatz. if so what was your input. my galaxie is in primer now & i would like to do it 50s style. we used to leave our cars in flat primer. they call it hot rod paint now it was just a satin sheen. not flat, not gloss just in the middle. this is the only form that i can find where all these high powered pros with an attitude that like to run you down arn't. keep up the good work & thanks!!!!!! jim

i think dupont and some others make a "hot rod black" that'll give it the look you want, but its actuall paint, not just some primer or something flat.

my car is just in flat black spray paint

I sprayed my dash, some interior and some engine parts with it. It flows out best w/o the reducer (it's a 4:1:1 mix with the reducer optional). Dries to touch in 30 minutes and a full cure in 7 days. This stuff is tough, I had some silver enamel get on it and was able to rub it off with lacquer thinner w/o damaging the black.

I did the same thing to my '74 Grabber, but it faded out to like a grayish color in a few months.
