I'm trying to allocate some steel body panels for my '72 mav. All I've found so far though are quarter panels, and some fiberglass parts, I'm looking for front fenders, the panels under the front and rear bumpers and the front and rear spoilers, does anybody know if there is a vender out there that sells these parts in steal, I've heard to many bad things about fiberglass.
No one makes those parts "NEW" that you are looking for in steel. Other than the quarter panel skins, your out of luck unless you find good used parts. But, Maverick Man makes a carbon fiber rear spoiler. www.maverickman.com
dang, to think that the maverick produced more cars than the mustang in it's first year of production, and the aftermarket is so small.
Post an ad in the classifieds on here. Lots of time there are people parting out cars and selling fenders, bumpers, and valences.
That's why I'm tired of my Mavericks. Most time is spent searching for parts. Then paying too much for the parts you want. By the time you're done you could've built 10 Mustangs for the same price & time frame. I've always been one to want something "different." But, damn, different is expensive!!!
Looking in all the wrong places for your parts. We have over 9000 Maverick/Comet members on here. Lots of people with parts cars and loose parts. If you decide to keep your car you can probably save a good bit of money in the future.
yeah, the parts youre talking about are actually in the newest Autokrafter catalog... but when i called to order both side lower quarters and complete floorpans they told me the deal with whoever was gona stamp them fell thru...they dont believe theyll make their money back after the tooling cost. they dont realize that without those parts we cant restore these cars which will llead us to buying more parts from them. those rust buckets will end up as parts cars which will hurt their sales again.jmo
I would agree with that. No way would they ever make their investment back. Not a large enough interest in getting these done. There might be interest....but not ENOUGH interest. They would need to stamp out thousands of these....and then sell them all......to ever make any money. One would make more money leaving the money in the bank, unfortunately.
