Very cool Comet. :) Love the pics and the history behind the car. I wonder if any of the Stabbers are still around.

Was the lettering on the quarters just above and in front the marker light added at the dealer? Does it say "Comet GT" or something else? Can't quite make it out.

On rear Quarter Panels, you will note "Spoiler 302", it had a chin spoiler similar to yours, like I said, I had the only Spoiler 302 that I knew of, and that came from Richard Pugmire who helped me with my car. (Richard Pugmire was and is the owner of Pugmire Lincoln Mercury so appears to have been dealer installed.

Here is the email from the original owner of the car:

On the wheels, they were 14X7 with 70 series tires, I went to 60 series on next set, I also had a Grant Walnut Steering wheel which was not on any other Stabbers, also Hurst T Handle shifter knob and Oil, Water & Volt Meter console, hopefully you can see all of these. On rear Quarter Panels, you will note "Spoiler 302", it had a chin spoiler similar to yours, like I said, I had the only Spoiler 302 that I knew of, and that came from Richard Pugmire who helped me with my car. I have the Original Bill of Sale and I,m going to have to find it and I,ll email that as well. You have my permission to post these pictures on the Comet/Maverick web page if you like, just let them know who it belonged to, oh yea, it was completely totaled in an accident in Ethelsville, Alabama in 1974, I sold it to a friend there. Like I said, I had a little insight on these cars due to my friendship with Richard. Rick Shumpert

No problem, hard to read all as I put quite a bit of his stuff on here. But I am a fan of the Stabber and trying to find all I can on them. Contacted Mr. Pugmire requesting info from him by email but heard nothing back from him.
