Looks great I like that color as well.......... I Think pulling the car apart is the only way to go...........
Sonic blue is a great color. When I bought my 03 F250, I tried to find one in that color. Wasn't able to. Can't wait to see it complete.
All the "insides", fenders, interior and trunk will be undercoated with Rubberseal undercoating (goes on thin and dries hard, not tacky). Nope, just cleaing them up. If they look trashy, I'll prolly spring for some SS buttonheads... It's a replica Boss 429 scoop I got off E-Bay. Thanks for the kind words, Ill get more pix soon! Russ
No heat/ac motor, or holes for hoses etc? Man it(the firewall) is so crumply looking when you see it like that.
Buffed out paint! Now he'll paint the exposed frame rails black and spray the undercoating. After that, I'll clean and spray the headliner black, then the dash goes in (hope I get it all wired in time!). Wiring is fun! I kep telling myself that... Really, with good diagrams it's not too bad. the actual "doing" is the easiest part, far easier than reconfiguring and drawing it up. Here's a pic of the wheels (Billet Specialties "Street Lites") I'm using, I just happened to find a roll of vinyl in my cabinet that's close to a match, so I made up some inserts. Russ
Well, it's down to nothing. It can only get better!!! That's a good garage to paint in. I've seen Barrett-Jackson show cars that were painted in way worse facilities. If you can paint, you can paint. If you can't paint, they make $50,000 down draft booths so you think you can!!!! Good luck with the car!
The engine will be carb'ed, the MSD controller uses the cam and crank sensors to synch and fire the factory coils (it runs the complete ignition system). Dan, my painter (Ray) has used a high-dollar booth before and says he finds the same amount of trash gets into the paint either way. Luckily, 99% of it can be sanded and buffed out. Russ
