I'm looking for some subframe connectors that have good ground clearance. I've checked out the other threads on here but really haven't seen anything on this. I'd appreciate it if anyone could help with some info..... thanks

I think Bulhead makes some tubular ones that have good clearance. Mine were made by fan2488...and I am impressed...They are rusty, because I want them to get a layer of rust before I put POR-15 on them. They don't sit any lower than my exhaust pipes.

Chassis Enginering makes a set that fits nice.

I made mine out of 2x3 square tubing. But I kept mine level so I had to cut into the rear floor pans so that may not be an option for you.

Dan Starnes from the forum here made a couple runs of custom made tubular connectors a few years back. I bought two sets from him. they where very nice, not sure if he has any left. The last run he said he would not set up to have anymore made after that. But he may have a set or two left over from that last run that did not sell.

Allston and Chassis Engineering both make sets that are good and strong and offer plenty of ground clearance.middle pic is a Chassis engineering one on my mav...RH pic is an Allston on gagemans mav. Both sets were easey to install requireing only a small cut on the floor pan cross brace for clearance. These tuck up to the floor pan nice and tight.

Two 1973 LDO Mavericks (one 4 Drag one 4 driving like Mad on the roads :) ) also have a 75 6cyl Stock! Ok, well sort of Stock :P
i had some made up by him in the late 80's they were nice and didn't scrape. but they didn't work with my cal trac step up. so before anyone does this kind of set up be aware that some connectors will hit certain traction bar set ups.

So true...My C/E connectors wrap around the rear rail right behind the front spring eye.Had to drop the spring to weld em in.Definitelycould be a problem with Caltracs.(y)

    Hello Scott:
I made two sets from 2" X 1" x 1/4" inch rectangular tubing and installed them onto two 74 Comets. The first car is being driven regularly
and they really help hook up. The car leaves straight and true.
CAMEO is in the process of making "templates" for our particular frame configuration ( the sub-frames connectors must be made to conform with the "bend" from the rear to the front) and when we complete them , we'll offer them to all the other enthusiasts at a realistic price. Our type of connectors will be "weld only" type units. Email me if you're interested.
