Whats goin on guys, glad ive found a good forum site for Maverick/Comet. My name is Dru and im 26 years old from San Francisco Ca. I just purchased a 73 Maverick because i miss having a V8 and would like feel the V8 power again. during my youth, I used to own a 1964 1/2 mustang coupe V8 boss 302 4 speed manual, 1966 mustang coupe inline 6 automatic, and a 1967 mustang coupe V8 302 automatic. i have also tried a Chevy 1972 Chevelle 2 door coupe V8 350 automatic, it wasnt for me because it was too heavy but i did like it very much. currently i own 4 cars as of right now (crazy for that amout of cars to live in S.F.) one is a JDM RHD 1975 toyota celica coupe twin cam 4 manual. this car is my main car for my japanese enthusiast side of me, my heart and soul is in this car http://www.toyotacelicas.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=18013 i have another JDM RHD 1975 toyota celica liftback model twin cam 4 manual. this car is for me and my wife so that she can be part of the car hobby. http://www.toyotacelicas.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=18254 my daily driver car is a 1993 ford prove v6 KLDE manual, its a american version of the japanese mazda mx-6/mx-3 but more of the mx-6 due to the engine size, so its a hybrid of both... MORD is what import term of it Finally let me introduce my Maverick. she is a 1973 Ford maverick 2 door coupe? I bought her 200 miles away from San Francisco on 01/11/09. i drove out to Fresno to buy her and drove back with my Probe to San Francisco for another 200 back, im suprised she made it that far because the previous owner never really made any maintenance on her. she has a V8 302 column shifter automatic. her body is good condition besides from minor small dings and dents, no rust through but has surface rust. interior is complete and driver seat is the only thing that needs attention. my plan for my mavey is to just make her my weekend cruiser so im not gonna do too much on the motor, just make her look sexy and nice heres the pics of her, i got the pics from the Ad.
thanks for the warm welcome guys, im looking though the forum and found pretty interesting infos already.
welcome to the forum i like your cars i think i like your wifes car better i think you are right with not going with the widebody kit i think it makes the cars look to cartoonish jmo but i do like the early toys brad
thx brad. yeah, more ford guys like my wifes celica because it closesly resembles a mustang fastback california special
I dig the old Celicas. I had an '85 GTS convertible, last year for RWD and last year that it shared its platform with the Supra. Loved that car, mostly...
Welcome to the board! I'm just about an hour north of you. If you need anything, give me a holler. I may be able to help. -Corbin
I like them old celicas. I am sure you will do some cool stuff on your new Mav too. Maybe you can convert it to right hand drive! Welcome to the board, thanks for the links, we like pictures.
