We recently talked about magnetic cowl vent covers here http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=51837&highlight=cowl+vent+cover and here http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=51624&highlight=cowl+vent+cover I finished one. It looks like it will work good. I haven't painted it yet though. Here's a pic on a parts car.
Since it's raining and I can't dop any yard clean up today, I am off to our local sign shop and make just such an item. Rando, you rule.
Thanks everybody! It's made of a heavy flexible magnetic material - similar to that used to advertisements, etc. I'm going to test it and most likely make more (for my other cars). I'll start another thread if I'll be able to sell some.
Great! What thickness did you use? I was afraid the really thin stuff might fly off. I'm using .030. Hopefully this weekend (after the rain is gone), I can put it on one of the cars and blast down the highway.
Looks like the same shape as my Cougar ones. Put a couple of longhorns on the sides and the word MAVERICK in the middle and you are done. Mine stays on at any speed. Good luck on the project. Jim
The sign guy can also put your handle or graphic on it... I will eventualy get one with GT or "blugene" on it. Looks good...
I figured they could. I'm thinking of talking to a local sign guy that I've done business with in the past. If we can get a good design and he can print them for a good price. Maybe we can get a bulk pruchase going. Right now, I have a bulk roll of this material myself - but it's white and I only have enough to do my cars + 1 or 2.
......what is the reason for installing these?... wouldn't...in the rain...be best for the test...? ...Frank...
