    Hey guys, I've made templets for the dash panel, and am going to make attatchable trim that will cover the entire face, plus instrument cluster like the 67/68 mustangs, in "faux walnut" or brushed aluminum. I was wondering what you guys think would look better?

    My own preference would be carbon fiber. Someone on the board has one done this way (I saved the pic to my HD). :cheers2: and I like it!

    lol I promise to post pics as soon as I have them done. I can easily do the Walnut and/or Allu, but never worked with carbon fiber before. I saw the one you were talking about that's just the instrument cluster and 2 side gauges?

    I never understood the practice of trimming a car in wood grain look wallpaper. :puke:

    It's the same with carbon fiber... It's stickers with a carbon fiber graphic printed on it.

    At least with brushed aluminum, the item is usually a thin sheet of aluminum with adhesive on the back. And it actually looks good.

    So my first choice is aluminum, and paint takes a close second.

    Tacky as it may seem to some,I like the woodgrain.Even if it's fake.Aluminum looks good too.I guess I'm too old for the carbon-fiber stuff,it never done anything for me.What about the "engine-turned" inserts like the 70s Trans Ams had?Not my cup-o-tea,but it might look good in a retro racer/street machine type car.How bout some aluminum diamond tread(like on truck toolboxes)for the redneck rides out there:biglaugh:?
