IF i were installing hood pins I would use the type that were Factory on a 1971 Mach 1 Mustang . They are expensive but they are MUCH nicer in my opinion ,You Can get them from Mustang supply houses. http://www.mustangsunlimited.com/itemdy00.asp?T1=D0ZZKIT+01 Or the NEW Shelby type...http://www.parts123.com/parts123/yb.dll?Parta~ShowPicTxt~Z5Z5Z50000016b~Z5Z5Z5BBRKL~Z5Z5Z51
I put them on my 75. I regret doing it. Wouldn't do it again. Wouldn't have done it then if I was smart.
The new Shelby type is the ones I went with. Look much nicer than the little chrome plates but they are fairly expensive.
I once had a hood I done alot of work on. I had an L88 scoop on it and it was nice. I didn't have hinges on it cause I was always taking it off to tinker. Well, I for got to pin it one day. I now have two hoods. First is the factory GT with latch, second is another L88 no latch and lightened. I'll be adding them to my second hood. I just hope I remember they are there when I swap back with my first hood.
I have the pins - wasn't hard because there was already a rusty one on just one side when I got it (?). My Fiscal Manager told me that I had to get locking ones because of my underhood expenditures.
The hood on my Maverick already had them but knowing the value of Grabber hoods I wouldn't have installed them myself.
I may have just ruined my grabber hood but ill let you guys decide... i am going to keep the chrome lip black (just wanted to see what it would look like)
