ok guys, got the 77 mav home and getting it ready for the road, did you have to go to a custom stereo place or could you install a modern stereo yourself with some sort of backing plate to fill the old giant am/fm void
i've been thinking about a custom install thats kinda hidden away because i like the look of the old AM in there and i am pretty tired of listening to the news on the way to school and back i've also thought about putting in a Granada console with the sterio in one of the trays on it should be simple to install yourself though
I'm 30, is that still young? I did it myself, wasn't too hard. It's very simple wiring. But. . . . I should say I'm not too happy with my install even though everything went in fine it doesn't sound too great. With a car having so muh metal you really gotta put some sort of sound-dampening material and tighten up the panel or anything loose.
nothing at all wrong with old guys, i happen to be among you all. I'm just a late bloomer reliving my youth through my 16 year old son. pathetic huh
thanks. i like them too but im gonna put my 4dr back all original so ill prolly take those out and put them in my Grabber or '71 (or my '72 or the Comet, one of 'em) lol
