I'm joining! Here's my '69.5, which, believe it or not, is a parts car now...

I always thought it looked more yellow, but my grandpa calls it baby s#!t brown. :rofl2: This car is also a member of the now seemingly forgotten "Georgia Black Hood Society".

This thread just can't die, i finally dug up a picture of the first Comet that i was ever in. It was way back in the mid '70's and my Mom just got her drivers licence. The fact was that i didn't even know that she got her licence let alone that she bought a car. I still remember her pulling up in a used Comet 2-door. I fell in love at first sight. I remember sitting in the front seat as a kid looking out the windshield and looking at the Comet logo on the dash. No car can beat that memory for me. Now why is this a picture of the Comet all smashed up and not all fixed or before the accident ? Well my Mom would never take a picture of her car, it was just something she would never do. I would have to think that my step father took the picture as proof that the Comet was indeed in an accident....... so with that in mind....... i guess that it's a good thing that the 'ol Comet did get into an accident or i would have no picture at all and that would be just sad! The Comet is not really $h1t brown but close enough ....... so i think it needs to be put into the SBMCWBOALOLCC [IMG] as the newest member (with much love on my part).

By the way YES it did get fixed on the insurance company's dime, now can you imagine that!:dancing::tiphat:

what if the base coat is sh!+ brown under blue paint? mine is showing through, cuz i had to scrape the entire car with a razor and scraped it up. so, can i join? id start my own but i fear the DTM/CC would be lonely (Duck Taped Maveric/Comet Club) only, i didn't buy mine off an old lady, i got it from a guy who was being sent overseas to Iraq, but i have the brown. kinda.
