Hey everybody, A while back I found a thread that had a link or two to sombody that had stainless steel fuel and brake lines. Can somebody please repost? I of course can't find the thread or the websites. It's getting close to the time I have to take the tank out of my 73 and have it redone or maybe replace it. It's so full of crap and the car will run about 30 minuntes before the filter gets clogged and it dies. It has 8200 (original) miles and obviously sat for a long time. Thanks!!!! JC
http://www.rightstuffdetailing.com/about_us.htm Look on the Mustang page in the catalog, Maverick stuff use to be on the last page. I used their lines on my 73, while not exact, they worked fine.
Thanks!!!!!!!!! Any advise on the 73 tank thing? Replace or just have the one I have cleaned and all that?? Jon
Just replace the tank with a new one, they make them for 76-77 Mavericks, and will work with some small modifications.
No Columbus for me this year, I don't really need anything.....(this week) The way the fuel line looped around the rear frame rail was different than the factory line was on my car, mine had sorta an "S" to it, but the replacement worked fine, with a little bending. When I called to order mine "Dave" the owner answered the phone, and made me buy the stainless lines, and told me if I had any issues to call him, and he'd fix me up, I didn't bother about the fuel line, but I did have one brake line that had a crappy fitting, I called, and he sent me another, in less than a week.
Thanks for the help. Stainless is the only way to go in my opinion. Much better than the flex hose (brake) line the previous owner put on to replace the rotted out original. It rubs on about 5 things on the way. This car sat since about '83 so you can imagine I am finding little things every time I look. Thanks again! Jon
