how to make a factory 289 pull some muscle...

    ya regardless of its displacement. try the new springs it should easly go over 5000 rpm with good springs

    thATS funnny, the mavs in brazil could come with 289s . and i happen to own a 68 model 289, according to the casting marks, and yes it has 289 internals as well. :thumbs2:

    La diferencia visual esta en la balloneta del aceite.
    El 289 tiene la bayoneta en frente a in lado del distribuidor.
    El 302 la tiene al costado por un lado del multiple del escape.
    Por lo menos aqui en USA esa es la diferencia visual de cual motor es. Saludos desde Nashiville TN.:bouncy:

    The 68 289s were left overs when Ford was switching to 302s. You could get 68 cars with 289s or 302s depending on when it was produced and whether the "new" engines were avsailable or not.
    Just because ford didn't make any 289s after 1967 doesn't mean that someone else didn't build them - licensed by Ford.

    hmmmm maybe so, i know ford is great about grabbing random crap out of thier parts bin to throw the last few cars together!!!

    unos 289 los tenian acotados en la arana y unos 302 los tenian enfrente.

    un modo de chekiar es quitando una tapadera de las valvulas y va a tener 302 o 289 estampado, pero eso nomas son las cabesas

    289's were offered in mexico until 73 i believe, but they were 67 castings.
