ok on my 74 Im having some hood fitment issues in the rear with it sitting below the cowl and fender level I raised the hinges as much as possible and it helped to an extent but it has m,e thinking is there some kind of rubber bumpers that are supposed to be on the cowl? mine had nothing on it.

pics would help a ton if it does.

    Thanks guys

Should be a bumper at the corner of the cowl and fender. Look for a phillips head screw with a washer under it and a trace of rubber. They rot and fall off over time. Replacements are available from AutoKrafters.

Here is a trick for hood hinges, always works...If the hood is too high at the back loosen the hinge bolts on the inner fender, drop the hinges as low as possible, then lift front of hood as high as it will go,(front bolt as high as slot will allow, rear bolt as low as slot will allow) hood will set right down,in your case do opposite, get the back bolt slot to tip hinge up at back and hood will stay up higher when closed. Will take a little trial and error but it will stay up even without bumpers, but put them on so it doesn't shake.
