    I dont have a clue where to find a dash, a real dash not one of those "cover over" pos dash covers

    i would like to know if i can change only the inside of my differentiel for a 3.23 lock gear ? i've got a mercury comet 76 ,built with a 302 and a rear axle( code 3) for 2.79 and a c4 transmission (y)

    Different vehicle but when I was backyard restoring my F100 I looked around for a new dash. At $500 it just wasn't in the cards so I bought the $79 ABS cover. To be honest on my truck I am perfectly happy with it and unless you are looking for it you never notice it. My truck is not a show truck though and I can understand not wanting one for a show car but a DD I think it is OK.
    Now if I was a lottery winner I would go out tomorrow and buy a real one. lol

    If you have a decent core, you can take it to an upholsterey shop and have them fill the cracks, then cover it with vinyl and heat shrink it to fit. This is what I had done to mine. Looks great and it was only $100.
