Its come a long way baby!!!Looks good Darren...Your further along than I am on mine, but I dont have a class A body shop to play in...LOL...Just dads garage and a handfull of summer days to work on it.I should be painting mine this fall...I know what you mean about the time it takes...a year seems long...Time sure does fly though. You have excellent taste in colour choice by the way :thumbs2:

Thanks its a good feeling to run out of parts and yes the body shop is a huge plus. Cant thank them enough. Going to get a nice pic of the car and all the guys in the body shop framed for their office. When the guys in the body shop told me it may take a year I thought they were on crack. Boy was I wrong. :slap:

RED GREEN RED GREEN... Grabber Green...

Wow... I love the "before, during, and after" progress pics. Nice that you can work on it still, but doesn't it just suck getting it finished ON TIME and now having to wait for cruising weather so you can JUST F'IN GIVIN'ER ('step on it' in the U.S.)?

Speaking of Reg Green (as per your other post) mine are Red and soon-to-be Grabber Green. As soon as I saw the colour (color in U.S.) I fell in love with it and since mine has brown interior it will go... I had picked the colour (color in U.S.) before I even had the car.

Thank gawd (god in U.S.) I have another running car because - even though I'd like to do it in a year, methinks mine will take two as well. It would drive me bananas not being able to drive one and looking at mountains of unfinished parts and wanting to get 'er done.

And guess what?... I'm doing the same hood/scoop/steel rims and cheapo hubcaps because I love the look.

I'll be painting my own car eventually, and I've heard the same advice - take your time - bodywork, prep, and paint will take exactly TWICE as long and be TWICE as hard as you guess it will. But they say the results are worth it... yours looks awesome.

Actually there isnt much to tell. I bought the car with the drivetrain done. The guy I bought it off had it built and doesnt know much about specs etc. About 1500 miles on the drivetrain. 302 C4 4:11 8 inch locker. Trans shifts nice and hard. Deep pan with cooler tubes. Looks cool if anything. I believe the engine is fairly mild based on how it feels. Has aftermarket roller rockers(seen through oil fill). Lumpy enough to sound nice but streetable. I'm guessing your average cam. intake, headers upgrade. Ran 13.5 with 15 feet of wheel spin for the prior owner. Who ever built it did a nice clean job. Finished it very well so I assume the same care went into the internals. Since I'm in the trade I get funny looks when I answer I dont know to the whats in it question. Need to reseal the intake soon so maybe I can get a better idea of whats in it. Its enough to have fun with. Did the crazy motor thing with my first one. Got tired of the headaches that come with it. I wanted a mild car this time thats a little more streetable.

Happy to add that I finally got the window trim finished. Couldnt find the 4 factory clips I needed. Modified the AK crappy clips. Straightened them out in the vice with a punch. To get the trim to snap in I looped monofilament around the clips and pulled the clips open then snapped in the trim. What a ridiculous amount of work for a few clips.

What shop were those pictures in? Looks exactly like a military auto hobby shop (where I do all of my work for now).

Finally got the new front tires on and out for a test drive. I cant even put into words the difference it made to the car. Cruisin down the road one handed now compared to fighting to keep it straight. Also changed the rad hoses and by pass hose, flushed the cooling system and put on my new shiny window cranks. Not original cranks but who cares they match and cost 11 bucks each. Napa old stock. This is getting fun now.:):):)
