    To all Maverick Comet fans:

I need some help in finding a 30 to 40 second piece of footage i saw on T.V. about 13 or so years ago. In this video a 4- Comet is parked on a street while off in the distance a volcano had erupted. The show was about volcano's and was a on a learning channel sort of thing. While this Comet is sitting on the street a lava flow was rolling along the street and the Comet is right in it's path. The flow rolls along, rolls into the front of the Comet (when you see it, your looking at the Comet from the rear end) and proceeds to surround the car and roll past it. As this happens the Comet catches on fire and starts to burn, but rather slowly at first, then the burning begins to speed up. The camera stays on this poor Comet the whole time as it more or less melts into the lava flow. It was one of the most amazing things i have seen on T.V., i just couldn't believe what i was seeing, amazing! If anyone has this footage or knows where you could get it let me know please and thank you.:D(y)

Hilarious banter y'all got started here... :rofl2:

BUT... you SMARTYPANTSES... what about the Tunguska event in Russia sometime around 1910 where a Comet set the sky on fire? And there were no Fords sitting around melting because... well, it was Russia around 1910.

    Huh? HUH?

Tried a pile or searches on the sad previously mentioned vid... no luck. Was it National Geographic or something? Most of the insane lava photographers and filmmakers are hired by National Geographic. Tend to burn out a lot of sneakers.

I think I saw the same vid you describe and I believe it was from when Mt. Saint Helens in Washington went up around 1980 or so.

Hope this helps in your search ... ;)

That was a cool video, love it. The video with the Comet has a much lower lava flow that was moving much faster and was only as high as the top of the wheel wells.:tiphat:
