i dont agree with what your wanting to do but its your car and i hope you dont let negative comments stray you from getting your car finished, even with a cheby motor itll still be a cool mav.



but maybe a mopar,AMC, engine would b a better choice!! lol

 

I wanted to slam an old flat head v8 in mine, but opted against it, too much work. If I were going through the trouble of converting to mustang II front end, there is no way I would settle for anything less that BBF

 

To each their own, I like doing different things too, but I would guess that the resale value would go down. I think anytime you start cutting up a classic car to fit a non-make engine into it will seriously narrow your buyer selection. If your only doing this because you just happen to have a chevy motor then your doing it for the wrong reasons.

If your going to cut something up, do what I did, Cut up a small worthless japanese import and put a V12 in it

that v12 sounds really good!!! im used to every thing thats not a v8 sounding all high pitched and lousy. thats a way cool build. now wheres the v12 maverick?

 

Man, talk about taking all your frustrations out on the whole rice burner scene lol. That's like 2 or 3 rice burner engines in a line lol. You should triple it off to different parts of the car so that you can still get that Wing Wing sound lol.

 

we were planning to drop a buick 350 in our mav, due to being able to pick a good running engine for 50 to 150(70-80k) and also due to it producing awsome low/mid torque, and only weighing 450 lbs(420 with al intake) but a 302 swap is just literaly bolt in from a 250 setup!,

perhaps.. whenever the 302 kicks it and were bored lol

 

I've always wanted to do something like that! My ideas were to take a sports car like a MGB or Triump Spitfire and drop in a 302 with a 4 or 5 speed. A kind of poor man's Cobra. I have never gotten around to it though. Every time I found a perfect candidate, I was broke!

 

I've wanted to do a V-8 into an MGB or Triumph TR-6, but decided if I'm going to do an import V-8 mutant, I'm going with a Datsun Z-car
