I have a tach from a Mustang 2 that I was going to try and install one day...looks like the right size and even looks simualar to the stock speedo
Blown76mav and Squeal1, what kind of gauges did you use in your housings? Did you just fab up a bracket to make them fit the orig. mav cluster?
Ben- The further this thread goes along, the more I want to try this out. Great idea. I hope you go through with it.
Yah I am getting excited about it too! I am actually thinking about spending a lot of money on my car in order to make it a total HotRod but make it really subtle and look totally stock. Its gonna be a fun one!
I saw one on ebay recently that had Cougar gauges behind the Maverick bezel. It looked bone stock and had the tach. I suppose a 71-73 Mustang set would look about the same in there. Then just get the in dash 3 gauge set from the same car and all the gauges would match. Forgot what year Cougar the ebayer used... I want to say 72. 72-75 Torino gauges should be about the same as well. Dave
Dang Lonnie, I dont know how you drive that thing. My eyes are so drawn to the blower that I couldnt keep them on the road On a side note, I was thinking of doing this too. I contemplated moving the fuel gauge to the inside ring so numbers could be on the outside like the speedo for a close match. I was thinking I could print a white face for the tach similar to the ones on e-bay that would match the speedo print. AC
did a search and I found the post that Ward originally did on the gagues....here you go http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=3583&highlight=gauges
You saw mine right? I need to take new pics since I've added the floor shifter, but the gauges are the same.
