Some dust and a worn out old computer that I've been using since 1998 (and it was an old used computer back then when I got it, was a 386 with Windows 3.1 back then). Been rebuilt several times over the years with second hand parts.

Been collecting brand new parts for a few months now though, and the computer is about to get torn down and rebuilt again, this time a total make over to a quad core system with 4 gigs of ram.

My keyboard is from the mid 80's and has a switch on it to flip it between A/T and X/T. :biglaugh: My dad used to use it on his IBM PC/XT in the late 80's and early 90's. I like it because it makes loud clicky noises when you type on it. I have a couple of similar made parts keyboards for when the buttons wear out every now and then or whatever. It actually has electric buttons under each key you can unsolder and replace. My mouse is an old Microsoft optical mouse that my dad bought in like 1997. I've replaced the cord on it a couple of times. I remember he gave like $90 for it back then, their cheap now.

Other then that just an old Maverick instrument cluster sitting on top of the computer. It's hooked to 7 volts in the computer, so it just kind of stays dimly lit up all the time.

Yes sir, IBM Model M. The only way to fly. Ten pounds of superbly engineered perfection. You can pour coffee down that thing and keep typing. When someone sneaks up behind you, you can knock their teeth out with it, wipe the blood off and keep typing. To "restore" these "vintage" things, you can sling that biatch in the dish washer. They don't make 'em like this anymore. The Model M is a man's keyboard, made for a man's hands, and when I'm typing nothing else will do. Chuck Norris types on a Model M and knows fifteen ways to kill you instantly with it. The Stig carries one in his car for communicating with those he deems worthy of his words. I have one for home, two for work, and numerous other ones in various stages of completeness. "Parts cars" if you will, gathered from attics, thrift stores, offices and donations by thoughtful friends, so that I may never be without my Model M. Jamie, you have gone up a notch in my respect for revealing yourself as one of my Bretheren of the Clickety Keyboard. :tiphat:

Nope, not a Model M, though my brother uses one of those, and I love those too. Mine is, IMO better made then the model M. The keyboard never had a brand name on it. When I took it apart, the only thing I can find is it says Focus Electronic Co. on the circuit board and a quality control sticker that's stamped 6/15/83 meaning my keyboard will be 26 years old in a couple of months. :rofl2: It's got a big heavy steel frame that the buttons mount in, and the big circuit board is attached to the bottom of that. Has lots of resistors and diodes in it, several smaller microchips and one big microchip that says Intel 1977 on it. Instead of the windows keys, it has one key on the left side that says Macro, and on the right side it has a * key. I've done a bit of modding to it over the years, has blue LED's, totally removed the plastic case and just run it bare so you can see all the circuitry, because it looks cool. :D Have to use an adapter on the end of the cord to hook it to my computer, because it's got the bigger old A/T style plug on it and my computer has the smaller PS/2 style. One of the capacitors popped in it a few years ago, and I replaced it with an old wax paper capacitor that was in an old 1950's AM radio, because you guessed it... it looks cool. :rofl2: I kid you not. Tens of thousands of posts on this and other forums, and from 1999-2005 or so I was almost always in chat rooms or talking on AIM every night. Still going strong.

Nah, it's just a gauge cluster sitting on top of the computer tower. I just got bored one day and wired it up so that it stays lit up any time the computer is on.

you should hook up one to read temp and one to track power usage. maybe even have a tach that reads cpu or memory usage and a speedo that does the other. that would be several times sweeter than anything on the computer desktop!

I figured that would get your goat. :rofl2: I'll get new pics of my whole system after I finish rebuilding it. Only pics I have of the keyboard are like 4 years old, and I've changed it quite a bit since then. Plus I don't have access to the pics right now because my file sever is down.
