i have some small holes in the top of my hood where my scoop used to be and now i wish to fill them in. should i use bondo? is there anything else that works better? i dont want the patchwork to show once the hood is re-painted
bondo will eventually break loose. you would be 100% better off if you find someone to weld them for you
Bondo should work, make sure you use a large sanding block lightly when it dries and not hand-powered sandpaper, otherwise the holes will become slightly visible when painted. A type of fiberglass resin or something stronger would be better though My opinion on what to do anyways. EDIT:Welding is the best answer, and I completely overlooked that option...lol
Ive known people to do that with no issues, and some of those people are still driving their car today with nothing falling out, just make sure under-hood it has a good jb weld base to hold it from falling over time.
Some people dont have access to a welder, and have to resort to less desirable measures...like me, I dont have access to a welder,. But I do agree that welding is by far the best option.

Patching a hole in a hood with just bondo will not work. You'd be better of using fiberglass mat on the inside, to give whatever you fill the holes with, something to hold it in place. Take your hood to a body shop, they'll weld it up cheap.
I have to agree!! Welding is the only option. Im sure someone has a buddy that has done it and it has lasted 15 years that way, but yours wont be the one. I have done alot of paint jobs over twice because of taking short cuts like this. Also just to post because I saw something about a stick welder, you cant fix holes in a hood with a stick welder.
my pops has a welder, its the kind that treads a metal wire through the machine and out through a little gun, not sure if that will work any better i think its called a wire welder duno for sure though
would it do as good a job as the stick welder? if not i can go to the local mustang shop and have it done, the guy there should have a stick welder.
