Well, It looks like the car is going to the paint booth this week. Im not sure if I should paint the front stone guard underneath the grille the body color or silver to match the grille? What are your thoughts?
    Thanks ... Bob

I have not done it yet, but I'm going to go with the suggestion from a thread I had last year... I liked Mavman72's idea! I'm going to paint the back part black to blend in with the grill, and the forward part (there is a groove in the stone guard that matches the contour of the bumper) will be body color (which in my case is yellow).

I think body color really looks good.

Since you are making a Grabber clone I presume......I would paint it black to match the grill.

My original intention was a 71 Grabber clone. However I was not able to get a grabber hood in decent shape and I never got around to getting a grabber grille. For now the car will be dark metallic green, grabber tail spoiler, RR panel in silver, possibly silver hood stripes 70's style (I can't make up my mind) also in silver. And I will be using the original silver grille thats in pretty good shape with the exception of one of the mounting holes near the lock support is broken through. I did not want the side stripes painted on at this time so it will probably get silver tape stripes in the future.

In that case......I would paint it to match the grill.

As far as a "grabber grille", all you need is some black paint....

I have a 71 plain jane, to make it a grabber I would need the one with twin sport lamps in the grille. I don't think I want to paint my original grille black because its in nice shape. Even though the black with the intended stripes would make it look like a 70 Grabber. Decisions, Decisions, Decisions .....
