Since the Mustang ones are longer it seems it should be easy to modify the part.

It took me almost a month to wander in here, but I finally found this thread. :)

I am indeed running a TCP coilover setup, I converted my '72 back in 2004. Back then, the Total Control guys told me it wouldn't work. I knew they were wrong. They didn't have one listed for Mavericks/Comets. I ended up buying to the kit for the 67-70 Mustang/Cougar. Everything fit beautifully except the strut rods. I ended up selling those on Ebay for a couple hundred dollars and keeping the stock ones, which I still have today. Of course now TCP knows better and lists a kit for the Maverick and even sell the correct strut rods...

I am very happy with the setup. While I had everything apart I did the "Shelby drop" and mounted the upper control arms about an inch lower than stock. My kit even came with a template to do so. I also added an Adco rear sway bar. All the rest of the steering components were factory with power steering, and the car handled great. I've spent the winter making upgrades of my own, and hopefully soon I'll have everything back together to see how it goes...:)

Is that a Maverick specific kit?

The instructions say 64 1/2 - 70 Mustang. It will need a little help finding its true Maverick identity.
