In the gallery I found a nice GT comet thats lime green with a black vinyl top. I was wondering who owns this. I noticed that in the photo his GT stripes are glossy, so Im curious if he painted on the Gt stripes or if he just cleared over them. I was thinking about painting them on but Im not sure how you would get the GT letters to come out.

I personaly would be afraid that the sticker would wrinkle or something if it was painted. Maybe someone has done it and can tell us. I also thought the sticker was kinda glossy as it is. The sample I got is.
Is this the car your talking about? This one belongs to member "dspr". Joakim is his name, cool guy, bad azz car.

The stripes are not flat in finish when new or repopped. They are not super glossy, but they do have some gloss. When they age, they do fade and chalk.

I am painting mine on. I called the graphics place and had them make the GT stripe kit in a stencil rather than the normal material. Cost was a little more but when I'm done, It will all be painted and buried in clear so there will be no edges.

I mentioned it to him and he said that that is just the way the pic turned out and that they are not glossy. I am thinking that they could be satin or semi when new. Once the weather and time gets ahold of them they turn flat. I'm guessing tho... and that's if it's the same car.

If it's my car you're refering to, the decals really aren't all that glossy:) I guess they're just standard reproduction GT-decals:)

Thanks for the info guys. I was just a little worried because I live in Florida. One week in the sun down here is like one full summer up north. I hope they dont fade to fast.

By the way DSPR you have the nicest comet I have ever seen.
