I am wanting to use rust bullet on my floors to cover up some surface rust and a few pinholes. I am looking on summits website and see 2 different products by rust bullet. They have the rust inhibiting base coat and and the blackshell coating. The floors will get carpet when its time so apperance is not a concern. I am wondering which product to go with
I think the way they work is you apply one coat to neutralize the rust and then another one to wash it and another one (the last coat) which is the paint and that actually covers the metal. At least that's what I remember when I got that kit a long time ago, came with 2 little bottles and one paint can.
what you got wasn't...Rust Bullit...it's a one step application... Mike used some today... ...Frank...:Handshake
Buy the silver can. I've used it in my trunk and spray-on bed liner adhered to it after sanding. It is sandable and paintable. Put duct tape on the underneath of the pinholes. Rust Bullet will fill the holes and solidify. You may want to use some fiberglass mesh with the Rust Bullet for thin areas. I did an article on trunk repair and it covers the use of fiberglass.
