I was thinking the same thing, but with a 6" drop axel front end.
It's much cheaper then a MII front end, but it will handel like a 59 ford pickup.

Lance (Mavowar) and Travis (ModMav71) are both working on mod motor swaps. I believe they are both using 4.6's though.

it would defintly require a mustang 2 front end swap. doubt a stock hood would fit.

If you're going to attempt it, why not go for the gold with a V10 ?

forget the v10 and put the lighting top end on that motor. the blower should be sticking through the hood. that would look sweet.

Or take a Navigator DOHC 5.4, add a blower to it, top it all off with 2-4 bbl carbs.:thumbs2:

i have wondered about the new DOHC 5.4 but was told you would be better with a 4 valve 4.6.... over all im happy with old school stroked 302 or 351, but would love to see what you can do with one.

5.4 are good motors in my opinion. IIRC, the 5.4 only had 3 and 4 valve configurations and the 4 valve would be the lightning engine. On a 4.6, most are 2 valve, and you can't swap parts from the 3 or 4 valve cobra motors over to the 2valve gt motor. I'm not sure if the same goes for a 5.4?

Either way, if you want something that won't break the bank, why not just do 302? Cheaper, and a ton easier.

Uh.... No, The 5.4 and the 4.6 were availible in 2 or 4 valve config. And the lightning was a two. And cobras are all 4 valve.

The 4.6 and 5.4 were made in 2, 3 and 4 valve. The 3 valve made it into the trucks starting in 05. Don't think the 4 valve ever made it into trucks, unless it was in the Lincolns
