I know it's OT, but your mirrors really need to be body color.
    Just my opinion...

I disagree, I like them black, I still think you shouldn't paint the scoop though.

If you are wanting something to make the scoop be noticed [and how you can miss a Boss 429 scoop, I dunno} paint a black stripe the width of the scoop opening down the center of the hood, from the scoop mouth to the hood edge. Kind of like a runway for the bugs and small children that scoop is going to swallow! :biglaugh:

I voted no but in reality, it will look good anyway. I just think that it still needs mesh or slats in the opening.

That is why I voted black.

Truthfully, it looks good now, and it looks good semi-flat black as it was stock on the Stang. Either way, you win.

I also like the idea of painting it black and framing it with black as a stripe, runway, or entire body line. So there are really many ways to look good.

I don't like framing it in black (or runway) while leaving it body color. That is always too busy IMO.

What is with all the 'stuff' inside the scoop? Are you EFI?
If so, you may consider just painting inside the scoop black in order to hide some of the 'busy' in there. I think a slat or screen setup is counterproductive to the retro look. Those scoops didn't have that sort of thing back then. If they did, it was nothing more than a discreet flap back inside that was painted black to hide it. Pretty much nothing you would use today on a retro scoop.

    I'll 3rd that.

Paint them body color. Why emphasize mirrors.....or the scoop?

    It looks good!
