so i wonder what other monte bars are the same width? i know non fords would not have the dizzy space, but there may be a way around that that means no welding?.... hmmm....

i made a monte bar out of a 3 point tractor hitch. it's adjustable so you can spread out your shock towers to adjust camber when aligning the car. if anyone's is interested i can take pics of what i did. i did have to do some welding but the bar is removable. total cost was $30

Heres a pic of the modificated monte carlo bar in my blue mav(its for a 66 stang) Its too narrow for a mav so I had to lengthen it with a piece of pipe sleeved over the original (which was cut in half)It should sit closer to the towers but...I wanted a straight bar and distributor clearance was a problem soo,it sits where it sits.Hope this helps. 100_0494_original.jpg

what mavman72 did is probably better for most people then what i did. i made mine go from shock tower to shock tower so if you have a 14 in air cleaner it will hit that.

WOW thats an awesome idea luke. I bet if you did want to mount it where mavman72 did you could just weld a couple angle plates then bolt them into the same location. then make the same kind of attachment coming up off the plate? it could end up being a bolt on piece...
