Trying to finish up a driver for my son. Was a stock, rust free 6 cylinder when I started. Grafted a ’67 Shelby panel to the back with Cougar grills and sequential LEDs. Dumped the 6 for a built 302 and C-4. Just finishing-up with jamming the car before it heads off to the body shop. It’ll end-up metallic Gasser Green with black stripes (looks like a Christmas ornament right now!). Didn’t take any interior shots, but it’s all done except the headline. After the window openings are jammed, I’ll put it in. Also welded in new roof mounts for a modern 3-point belts while I was at it. It’s coming together nicely, and even though it’s a driver and not a trailer queen, it’s looking pretty good. Anyway, everyone likes to look at pictures, so I thought I’d post a few - not the greatest quality pics, but better than nothing.
Thanks for the kind words guys. I'm not sure if I'd go with that color myself, but that what the kid had his heart set on. I found another pic that might show it better. It's Eastwood's Gasser Green Metallic, and for cheap stuff it sure goes on like it cost 5x as much. It is a very heavy metallic and when the sun is out it'll blind you. Oh, also forgot to mention in the first post that in addition to every suspension component being replaced, the car was converted to 5-lug, 4-wheel discs too.
Kids got a good eye for choice color. Man is that nice. I would have to think hard about the stripes tho.
I agree about the stripes! The back panel stays silver metallic, so if anybody has some stripe suggestions, I'm all ears. I know I can't talk him out of the stripes, so I've got to try and make the best out of it!
Funny you mention the silver staying. I was thinking silver cause I was looking at the hinges and shock mounts and stuff. I almost passed out thinking what it would look like with chrome stripes
If I did chrome stripes, I'd have to get a set of Astro Supreme wheels to make it look exactly like a Hot Wheels clone!
Exactly! WOW! I'm dizzy. (actualy I don't know what astro's are but I have seen a hot wheels like your car color, simular anyway)
