Exactly how many different Mav/Comet gascaps are there?

    I have found 5 factory cap styles, I think that is it.

    For factory caps - standard with steerhorn - standard with Maverick script - deluxe with steerhorn - deluxe with Maverick script - locking with Maverick block lettering. These are the styles. Add to the mix that factory caps came with and without vents and earlier caps had 2 locking lugs and later ones had 4 lugs.

    You will often see the deluxe caps called LDO but they first came on the 70 Grabber.

    Then there are always all the aftermarkets, mostly made by Stant.

    the panels that these were on were shot so i salvaged the emblems. havent seen another set yet. i seen one of those grille emblems at the '06 Round-Up in Owensboro :yup:

    Dave, if you have the locking one, that should cover it as far as what styles the factory had.

    Anyone have any others? These are the ones I know of - but, it is a Ford thing ........ :huh:

    Yes, and there is a deluxe style like this as well. The red color is very sensitive to UV fading from the sun.
